…the ABC Department store with her minor daughter. As Mrs. Doe entered the XYZ display she tripped on raised flooring that was described as a “dance floor.” Mrs. Doe tripped on the area of the flooring that was missing the transition from the permanent floor to the temporary raised dance floor. As a result of the trip, Mrs. Doe suffered a torn Achilles tendon which required a surgical repair. After surgery, Mrs. Doe had a number of complications which resulted in another surgery. The pain in her ankle and foot area continued and she was diagnosed with Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome which is permanent. She will require medical and palliative care for the remainder of her life.
