Surrounded by family, friends, members of the Haggard Law team and hundreds of the top attorneys in the State of Florida, Michael Haggard received the most prestigious honor given by the Florida Justice Association, the Perry Nichols Award. The FJA website says “The Perry Nichols Award is the highest honor the FJA bestows and gives recognition to an individual who has dedicated a lifetime to the pursuit of justice through extended and distinguished service to the cause of justice in Florida and in the nation.”
Haggard Addresses Founders’ Awards Luncheon Guests
After receiving the award, Haggard addressed the guests attending the FJA Founders’ Awards Luncheon at the Ritz Carlton in Sarasota. Grateful for the recognition, Haggard spoke of his family and Haggard Law team that have supported him over the years and detailed the remarkable history of the award and its namesake, Perry Nichols. Nichols is regarded as a pioneer in the field of personal injury law, and was a revolutionary figure in his time. After World War II, Perry spearheaded the organization of the Negligence and Compensation Lawyers of Florida, the predecessor of the FJA.
Haggard concluded his remarks by sharing his belief that the mission and work of the FJA and its members have been, and will continue to be, an essential element of assuring that deserving people have a fair chance to seek justice in court.
